PAUL.
001
One man. A lifetime of stories. Still a punk at heart. Still writing his own story.
Meet Paul Black. The person behind the ink. Watch The Journal. Episode 001.

“I think for once in my life I finally found something I'm fucking good at and I can do it.”
In the aftermath of his daughter's death, Paul describes a period consumed by grief and anger. He became heavily involved in motorcycle clubs, admitting that his life was heading down a very different path.
“My whole plan was simply just to go to prison.”
Paul opens up about the accident that killed his daughter, his feelings of responsibility and his determination to keep fighting the case.
He also reveals the deeply personal meaning behind his blackout tattoos, which became a form of therapy after her death.
His is a life marked by extremes. From addiction and sobriety to finding his feet again, Paul speaks candidly about the experiences that have shaped him and the lessons he's carried along the way.
“My daughter was in the crowd. And two weeks later she was dead. And I never played drums then after that. Never played them since.”
From the stage to tattoo studios and film sets, Paul's journey has been anything but conventional. Music, art and tattooing have shaped nearly every chapter, taking him into different worlds and introducing him to people along the way.
But behind the ink and larger-than-life character is a far more complex story. One shaped by extraordinary experiences, unexpected turns and moments that changed the course of his life.
Music was his first love. Until one moment changed everything.

“I was a young punk rocker. And I never stopped being a young punk rocker in my head.”
Paul Black joined his first punk band at eleven. Since then, he spent two decades tattooing, covered almost every inch of his body in ink and found a new direction in acting.
Growing up in the Welsh valleys, music was everywhere. From playing on broken drumsticks his father brought home to discovering punk at school, Paul found his world early on. And he's never quite left it.
Young punk rocker. Tattoo artist. Professional actor. At 58, Paul Black has lived one hell of a life.
But Paul's story doesn't end there.
After years behind drum kits, tattoo machines and microphones, he's discovering a new side of himself.
With new acting opportunities, a return to competitive bodybuilding and plenty of ambition for what comes next, Paul is embracing a new chapter. He's showing no signs of slowing down and, is truly beginning to believe in himself.
